We did it! A huge f***ing thank you to the 1,808 backers who pledged $137,477 to bring Gods of Metal: Ragnarock to life. 🙌
Now that the campaign has come to a close, it’s time to sit back and relax… for you.
On our end, we’ll be busy setting up BackerKit, our pledge manager, as Kickstarter completes its post-campaign process of collecting everyone’s pledges. This process takes about two weeks.
At that time, BackerKit will send a survey to the email associated with your Kickstarter campaign.
The point of the BackerKit survey is to (1) give you the opportunity to include add-ons to your pledge and (2) to collect your shipping address + payment.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR KICKSTARTER EMAIL IS UP TO DATE OR ELSE WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEND YOUR SURVEY + PLEDGE ITEMS.
We will send a backer update notifying you when the BackerKit survey goes out.

Now, we have no choice but to bring every single backer a new… well, revised PDF supplement, The Isle of Apocalartrockapelago.
What was once a psychedelic world of spirits and mysteries off the coasts of Ragnarock is now an apocalyptic wasteland filled with abominations from both above and below… how fun!

Meet Our Badass Creative Contributors
Just when you thought this Heavy Metal Fantasy Roleplaying Game couldn’t be any cooler, wait until you see the Avatars of Metal who’ll be contributing to the game. We’ve signed on badass members of the gaming community to be creative contributors to Gods of Metal: Ragnarock.
Our 3 contributors are activists, independent game designers, and ENnie-nominated designers whose combined credits include Critical Role, Roll20, Tabletop Gaming Magazine’s “Best Games of 2020” and much more.

GABE HICKS
Gabe Hicks is an independent game designer for digital and tabletop.
He created the CMM (an alternative character creation tool for 5e focused on class narrative) that has been featured on the DnD twitch channel. He has worked with Roll20, Paizo, Critical Role, MageHandPress, and Grim & Perilous Studios.
Leading a group called Mythic Grove, he focuses on highlighting smaller creators to give them a platform and opportunity through streaming, design, writing, or other creative mediums with the projects that Mythic Grove creates.

JONAYA KEMPER
Jonaya Kemper is a New Jersey-born badass activist, artist, educator, designer, writer, and games scholar who looks at play as a means of liberation for people of marginalized identities.
Jonaya’s work often involves the themes of intersectionality, storytelling, and autoethnography as a means to create more inclusive futures and explore a more diverse past.
Jonaya recently graduated with honors from NYU’s Gallatin Graduate School, where she studied larp (live action roleplaying) as a tool for marginalized identities to deconstruct themselves.
Jonaya’s expertise lay in the concepts of emancipatory bleed and liberatory narrative strategy as a way for marginalized individuals to achieve liberation through larping and reflection.
In short? Jonaya writes and investigates games and storytelling and teaches others how to do the same.
When she’s not running around the globe trying to learn about and document larps, she can be found writing larps, rpgs, short stories, plays and generally making a fuss.
Jonaya’s been playing pretend since birth and doesn’t intend on giving it up anytime soon.
CHRIS BISSETTE
Chris Bissette is an ENnie-nominated designer of over 20 games.
Their journaling RPG The Wretched was one of Tabletop Gaming Magazine’s “Best Games of 2020,” spawning hundreds of games based on its Wretched & Alone engine.
When they’re not writing games they’re also the lead vocalist of Manchester-based metalcore mob DEADTHRONE.

Ragnarock: The Reaper’s Keys
Deep in the Marshes of Eternal Darkness, there lives a creature born outside of living memory of every denizen and avatar of Ragnarock.
A Titan, said to have been one of the instruments to have formed the universe, roams the stinking wastes, with ivory bones jutting out from its gargantuan body.
Despite its immense size, it’s difficult to track down.
Some say it buries itself in the dank marshes, until it emerges to claim the wandering souls of those denizens floating in purgatory. Burning their energies to form the dark music that occasionally emerges from the creature.
Some say one of the strings that form the Chord of Creation are hidden deep inside of its jagged frame. But none have ever seen it — or have lived the tale to tell it…
That’s right, yes, there are TITANS in Ragnarock. “Lived the tale to tell it…” until YOU journey to Ragnarock, that is. You might live. We’ll see. 😈
Stretch Goal Unlocked: Rezodrone
At $90,000 (which is so $10K ago), we unlocked an original soundtrack by Rezodrone, a group composed of Jason Charles Miller (Godhead) and Jamison Boaza.
They recently created the music for the radio tracks on the hit action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt, and their original Gods of Metal: Ragnarock soundtrack will provide the perfect jams to fill the backgrounds of your most epic adventures!

You are mega-crushing it out there!
With more than 1,000 backers standing strong, the Gods of Metal take notice of our mega mosh pit of a gathering — and decide to change the rules on us!
That’s right. Those metaler than thou mofos have shifted the stretch goals around. Are they just being a-holes… or is this actually better for us Avatars of Metal?
While the $90,000 and $140,000 stretch goals remain the same, we shifted things starting at the $155,000 level. Originally, this level would begin a sequence of unlocking metal versions of the Gods of Metal statues.
While we still think that’s sick AF — and it’s still unlockable at a higher level — we wanted to shift focus to more stretch goals that would more directly benefit our community of gamers. As such, we are introducing more game-related content!
Ragnarock Digital Maps and Token Pack
Starting at $155,000, we’ll unlock the Ragnarock Digital Maps and Token Pack, which will include 50 original Ragnarock tokens for virtual gameplay in the face-melting art style that you’ve come to expect from us! Additionally, we’ll thrown in three digital maps:

In this digital supplement, you’ll send your Avatars to a twisted maze of madness with insidious tricks and deadly games of chance as you navigate The Dark Ride, Maze of Mirrors, and The Dreaded Blow Off!
You’ll also have the chance to face The Bearded Dragon, The Strong Frontman, and The Not Tattooed Bassist! At the end of it all, you’ll have to prove your worth in a battle-royale if you hope to survive to play another gig in Ragnarock. It’s all alive on the inside!
